Gumboot Friday

Hello bloggers welcome, On the 5th of April term 1 It was a special day for everyone. It was    Gumboot Friday! and our school, Waikowhai Primary wanted to do some cards to support. We celebrated Gumboot Friday because it is part of our Mental Health and It helps you to celebrate and  donate money. Mental Health helps you stay focused and energised. It helps your body and brain well trained and it helps your feelings. If you don’t be fit or well your body would be miserable and unhealthy!. So are Senior Syndicate had been making little messages and quotes to support Mental Health to send in letterboxes around our school. The teachers had been wearing gumboots to support the day as well as donating money. We had written some positive thoughts to cheer some people up and make them have a great day. We had come up with this Idea from a student in our school was asked to do a booklet with another 29 students. She came up with a positive idea and it was to send some lovely messages into mail boxes. She had wrote it in a Healthy Puketapapa student questionnaire booklet, The teachers had agreed with the idea that’s why we are doing this. The booklet had questions that maybe have helped us have a clean beautiful world. We had also been doing inquiry that has been related to Gumboot Friday, To help our body stay fit. On Tuesday a few students had brought some gumboots in to support. On the day the Teachers were planning to be in little groups to walk around streets in put our little messages in them. Some parents came along to help and participate with us. We were all split up with the teachers and parents going to different streets like Hillsborough, Glass Road and more. We had two emails that came the next day, They were positive and helpful. One of them helped a mums son lift him up. Teachers had been taking photos well we have been walking around. I think this was a good thing to do because It helps your brain grow and body fit. A reason why we did this is to donate money and be kind to each other because we respect the people who had died at Christchurch. Well that's it for today bloggers, Blog you next time

Molly Green Day

Kia Ora blogger's and welcome to my blog, On Saturday the 30th my friends and others went to a special programme  at Molly Green Park. There were big squishy bouncy castles and an amazing performance by the kapahaka group on stage. Our school Waikowhai Primary were selling kawakawa balms, little pots
for $5.00 and big pots for $8.00, it helps to heel scrape, grazes and dry lips. Worm wees for growing gardens and bee's wraps too. We were selling these because we are fundraising for our senior camp. There were yummy
delicious food and also fun games to play, and also there were fun face paints we could get. Something my friends learned is that the kakakawa balms and other objects were helpful for them. They had a awesome fun day! and a great time. They felt happy and excited for this day to come.
Well I will see you next time bloggers and blog you later!
