Big foot Biking

Hey bloggers , on Thursday the 28th our class Hauraki had our turn learning how to ride a bike. First we had to learn the different types of material on the bikes, the bike coaches taught us how to be seen when your on the road with a bike. After that we put our helmets on and learned how to put it on and keep it tight on our head, especially the forehead.

The the coaches told us what size of a bike we could have, then we rounded  around the courts high fiving  the coaches and went around each corner signalling with our hands. A while later we played a lot of fun games. The first game was in the box, you had to ride your bikes inside the box and not put your feet of the pedal or you were out or ride out side the outline of the box.

Then we played around the courts with our bikes for free time and have fun. After we had prize giving and got free pencils and a bike badge. We had a fun time and I learned how to balance on the bike. We had a lot of fun riding with bikes and learning to tricks and games. Blog you later!

At long jump you stand at a certain point and run then land on the sand, The teacher will keep track of whos winning. In shot put you have a solid hard ball, You all have to stand in line and through the ball as far as you can. On the tiring sprints there are 5 - 6 lanes, you have to stand in your lane and run to the end. If you cross lanes you are disqualified.

At the meter race you have to run like 400 or 800 meters than run back and go one more time. And the last final race at the end will be included in the real athletics day.

Creative fun

                            Creative Fun
Hello bloggers, this week we did fun activities for the whole morning, there were nine activities Making butter, Origami frog, Marshmallow maths, Pavement art, Lego scene, Plasticine character, Plaudough insect and paper planes. At each station there were clear instructions, my favourite activity was the Pavement art because of the cool colours and blending. In the Marshmallow maths you had to pair up and make the tallest tower. In the Pavement art we have to draw on concrete and blend the colours in with your drawing. In cutting patterns you have to fold the paper and cut different shapes out, if you open the paper all the sides will be simaliar and have the same patterns.

On making butter we just had to get cream and put it in the cup and shake until it separated. In paper air planes all you have to do is fold the paper and follow the instructions. On Plasticine character you just have to make something with clay as well as play dough insect just with play dough.

I had fun and learned how to make a lot of things, Well thats it for today bloggers, blog you later

Cultural people and garden opening

              Opening
Hello my lovely bloggers, on Monday near the afternoon we had  a very exciting opening and a new song. We first practices the songs a few times then sat outside in our house groups to sing our lovely new song for the beautiful garden. After that the oldest person in the school to the youngest had to cut the ribbon together and finally open the garden. In the garden was the shimmering stones and the wonderful path way to the seat of friendship. The most special thing that was in the garden was the kowhai tree to remember all the victims who past away in Christchurch.

After the beautiful garden we moved and sat near the amazing cultural people designs that were covered up with purple sheets. They called up two students from each class to come up and pull of the sheet to show their incredible design. There were twenty cultural people and in order were the New Zealand girl, berm boy, Taiwan girl, Latin American girl,  Fijian boy,  Afghanistan  boy, Samoan girl, New Zealand boy, South African boy, Coco island boy, Malaysian girl, Niue girl, China boy, Maori girl/ Aotearoa,  Indian girl, Iranian boy, Pakistan boy, Tongan boy, Sri Lanka girl and last be not least Maori boy.

I loved the cultural people and the garden and I hope you enjoyed reading and looking at all the picture, Blog you later!

Beach Clean

Beach clean

Hey bloggers, in term 3 at the end of the term the hole senior syndicate went down to Waikowhai Bay to collect rubbish. We did this for climate change to help save the earth and animals. We walked down chanting with our signs and arrived at the beach. We split into groups of 4 - 6 and picked up rubbish with an adult. Each child and adult got gloves and separated  in different places of the beach We were the group who was on the main surface of the beach picking up rubbish near us. Our goal was to find small and tiny rubbish, Especially the ones that animals can spot.

We had large bags and found a lot of crabs behind rocks. What I found was some bras and some undies, I was very interested with who did it and who left it there.

After the long day we took a photo then we headed back for a delicious Ice block, then we finally went home.

Leadership

         Leadership

Hey bloggers, everyday except for Tuesday some year 6 students play games with the little juniors, middles and mostly seniors. On leadership there 3 to 4 people doing it. On Mondays Rio, Noah and Toby do leadership and on Wednesday its me Callum, Brooklyn and Mercedes. On Thursday It is JD, Ayva and grace and the last day on Friday is Zoe, Neeve and Chimay.

In Leadership we do normal and challenging games so the people who are playing it are having fun and obviously know the rules. If its raining we either do it in our school hall or not do it if it is very dangerous. If someone is away we can choose to do it or not

We can not quit and we can not be rude and hurt each others feelings. Our equipment we have is a orange t - shirt with our names a whistle for attention and the gear for the game.

This is today's post bloggers, hoped you enjoyed, See ya later!

Athletics Practice

Hey bloggers, on Fridays or Thursdays our senior syndicate practices doing the main athletics activities, high jump, sprints and long jump. When we finish after 15 minutes we rotate to the next one. In high jump you have to line up to the left side or right side then you have to run outside of the cones and jump with the right or left leg.

In sprints there are 5-6 lanes, the teacher says ready set and snaps a material, we have to be ready to run with looking in our lane and if you cross lanes you are disqualified. You have to use you arms and legs to help you and also look straight to the finish not at other people.

In the long jump we have sand of course and we have to try and jump the furthest to win. The teachers would keep track of whos winning and then its the next persons turns. The other activities our gonna be played on the day by the wonderful teachers.

Well this it today's post bloggers hope you enjoyed it and blog you later, and sorry no photos.

Food for Thought!

Hey again bloggers, On today's post I am blogging about the food for thought supermarket trip. We had went in classes in the car with an adult all the way to New World. When we arrived we walked in and got into groups of 1- 5 In the groups we had a piece of paper which had tittles of everyday food and sometimes food. Our groups started with the yummy snacks like chips, cookies, biscuits, and more. We chose that the most everyday snack you should have is crackers with had no sugar. The sometimes food was biscuits and chocolate with a lot of sugar. The next one we went to was the dairy products, Yogurt was our chosen one, usually the plane one is better than one with fruit. And for sometimes we did Ice cream which had a lot of sugar in the cookies and cream but it tastes delicious.

The next one on our list was breads which is not good to eat everyday, For sometimes we chose any bread like white bread and the everyday one was wheatmeal. Fun fact don't cost that much the others are quite expensive. The next one we whizzed through was muesli bar which was surprisingly the column with the most sugar in it. I chose the nut one with 8 grams of sugar and the sometimes were most of them and the highest was 22 grams whoa with a lot of salt too.

The last section was the fruit and veges. We had to name the veges i the right colour and guess as many as we can. We had so much fun and hope you have a good day bloggers. Well goodbye for now and blog you later!

Cultural people designing

Cultural people designs

Hi bloggers, In class we have been disguising about our cultural people placing them on the wall. Each of our school classes had two cultural people to paint and design, one a girl and one a boy. In our school we had 10 classes, the 20 cultural people were, Tongan, Afghanistan, Samoan girl and , New Zealand European girl, Iranian boy and more. We designed and coloured our own design and only got to choose two of each of the designs we had made. One of the designs were my one which has red patterns and a scarf along it. When we had finished designing we got to paint and draw and plan them on pieces of hard wood. The height had to be shorter than the wall so they could fit in. Each of the designs had to be the same height so it didn't look tall short We had to layer them with the paint and then came the hard part for the teachers they had to cut over the person and then carry on. Once that hard work was gone then Ms Sands and Dave the superstars measured them in order of the wall so it didn't look to wired.

Our teachers have told us that we are singing a song on the day to celebrate the new cultural people. We did this because we wanted to care about eachothers cultural and get along with each other. We will sing to out community, teachers, parents and helpers. Then our principal

will come up and talk about the paintings and important information. Well yay bloggers I hope you have a good day farewell and blog you later!

Fustsal

                                                                                                                       Futsal
Hello bloggers, on Wednesday each class takes lessons on a fun sport name Fustal. Its similar to Soccer and Rugby and football. We have been learning knee kicks, dribbling, kicks and passing. We have balls and a coach called Kensley, he shows us moves and games that original Futsal players do. Our coach Kensley taught us two games to play with the futsal ball. One of the games include to goals for two teams one team with bibs and the others with. Each teams have numbers 1 - 12. When the coach calls out a number the numbers of the people will try and kick the ball to their goal, it's similar to soccer.

On the other game its called shark attack. There are fishes who our innocents and sharks who are hunters. The sharks have a time touch the ball and grab it off the fishes. If the shark tags the fish the fish has to hold the ball above them

We all had fun and hope you enjoyed this post
